Navicast is devloped by Barsark AB, Sweden's oldest internet video company and a global pioneer in the online video market. The company was founded in 1997 under another name and transformed into Barsark 1999. Barsark works under the motto  “innovation, creativity and dedication” and the founder Erik Fohlin is still the driving force behind the company.

The idea behind Navicast was born in 1999.
Back then everything that had to do with getting videos on to the internet required lots of special skills, special softwares and manual labour. Videos on the internet was an expensive and labour intensive craft. We had put lots and lots of hard work in to mastering all this, and we did a pretty good job even with todays standards. But somehow, in the middle of the IT-boom we realized...there must be a better way.
The Navicast journey had begun... 

Barsark is privately founded, privately held, debt free and profitable since the start without any venture capital.

This gives us an edge over our competitors since we can focus on our products, clients and services instead of short term goals, quarterly results and investors ROI.
